Up in Arms

It's been awhile since I read something that just got me to no end that I had to post about it.

Ms. Blog Magazine

So if she's with this Brady Campaign aren't they supposed to be promoting gun safety but here she is out there purposefully being ignorant and carrying a gun to prove a point, that doesn't sound too much like promoting safety to me, granted she believes her end result is to prove stronger laws to make things safer but yet she has to be unsafe (in extremely dangerous ways) to prove this point?

I love most of all what the blog "Of Arms and Law" said:

"Another way to think about what Heidi did is this: She blindfolded herself and walked out in the middle of onrushing traffic to prove that motor vehicles are dangerous."

And that is the equivalent of Heidi carrying a gun.

  1. I can't even respond to the comments on the article because I want to throat punch almost everyone in the comment thread.

    1. One of my comments, the long one got obliterated already but there are a few more still waiting moderator approval. I like my last remark to her best though:

      Your comment is awaiting moderation.

After reading all the comments, I just have one final thing to say.

I appreciate that you are taking the time to prove this point and to show how flawed the laws are where you are. I still think you are an danger to yourself and those around you, as well as those who buy a gun for protection that are just as ignorant as you are but the difference being they aren’t trying to prove a point.

Ask yourself this: What happens in the time you are proving this point that you do shoot someone (which I know isn’t your intention at all) can you live with yourself? Especially since you aren’t carrying to protect yourself, you are carrying to prove a point. Those of us who carry for protection should and I hope do ask themselves this every time they walk out the door with their gun. I doubt most do but I do, I think long and hard all the time about this. Also another thing to consider, if you do happen to shoot and kill someone you are not above the law, you will be arrested just like anyone else, it does not matter that you are doing this for an article or as an experiemnt/point proving thing.

    2. I agree though, there are a lot of people I want to give the smack down to for their ignorance and especially her. It pisses me off that she out there endangering those around her and herself. I just hope she doesn't accidentally shoot someone in her process of trying to understand the other side, which the other side doesn't usually go about it the way she is.

  2. I don't think that she understands that most people don't meet just the bare minimum. They understand that they need more training. Just because the law doesn't REQUIRE more training, doesn't mean people don't seek it out on their own.

    1. I completely agree. I did a bit of research on the women, this whole thing of hers is a ploy to get stricter gun laws passed. And the thing I find annoying about that site is they moderate comments. They didn't accept a single comment that I made yesterday, why? Because it doesn't fit what they are trying to prove. I noticed they also went through and got rid of a lot of the pro gun comments. What is the point of having a one sided experiement if you were really trying to prove something for yourself but she's trying to prove it for a reason other than her own agenda. The women just pisses me off on way too many levels. lol

  3. Saw that yesterday and it has all the potential in the world of ending badly. With kick she'll actually go out and shoot at a range without killing anyone by accident, just hope she learns something during her dangerous exercise in stupidity

    1. I do too! Sometimes I wish I could just smack people for their stupidity.
